Project Scope
Palaye Royale is a rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008 by brothers Remington Leith, Sebastian Danzig, and Emerson Barrett. They were first named Kropp Circle but later changed their name to Palaye Royale in 2011. The name for the band came from a dance hall in Toronto where their grandparents first met called Palais Royale. To celebrate 10 years of being together and for the tremendous growth Palaye Royale will release a greatest hits double album.
The greatest hits double album release is for any new or current fans of the band. This release will have exclusive items for this album only. You can buy most of the components by themselves or as part of a package. There will be the greatest hits of Palaye Royale from four of the albums they have released right now along with two songs from their Kropp circle age when they first started out. The primary target audience is high school to college students between the ages of 16-24. Although my target audience is ages 16-24 its important to understand this band is for any and all age groups, pending parental approval for younger children because of profanity.

Target Audience
The target audience is high school to college students between the ages 16-24. The target audience is for both male and female audiences. The group we want to reach is new and existing fans. The will also be into the underground rock scene and be very creative and artistic people. Finally, it will be an audience that enjoys smaller venues at concerts because of the better chances of band interaction
Research Synopsis
Researching the bands existing albums gave insight into what they previously done. All of the albums were photographic, so I wanted to stray away from their existing format and go for an illustrative approach. This way the limited-edition album will stick out amongst the rest.
To find an illustration style, I explored many different art styles and dove into some of the artist I have learned in art history. A mood board was created to get a look and feel of all the deliverables. It was important to know not only Palaye Royale album looks, but also what other bands similar to them did. I put a lot of focus on what the band’s personality is like and their aesthetic, which is why I went for a comic book kind of style.
Process Narrative
The First step to designing this project was too heavily research all there is to know about Palaye Royale. I looked and understand the past and current information of the band, but also the more personal experience of their music such as the story being told in the lyrics and in the music videos.
Grungy, fun and artistic were driving forces for the design. Through the research and sketching process, came the ability to add something special for band’s brand and fans. This design tells the story of 3 brothers making music and having fun while enjoying their successes.
